Geneva, Switzerland – Thanks to the participation of some of the world’s most exciting and socially-aware digital creators, the issues driving the agenda at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting this year will inspire members of the public, especially from younger generations.

Joining leaders from government, business and civil society, the digital creators will produce content in Davos for the first time, to bring youth perspectives to discussions, and to share the Davos narrative with a new and younger audience. The stars, who have a combined following of over 50 million on YouTube, have been selected for their ability to balance compelling, creative content with a strong emphasis on social justice.

“No one will be affected by our leaders’ efforts to build a cohesive and sustainable world more than our younger generations. That’s why this year we are making every effort to engage young people, not just so that they are aware of what’s happening in Davos, but so they are able to make their voice heard,” said Anna Bruce-Lockhart, Digital Lead at the World Economic Forum.

“We are excited to be bringing some of YouTube’s most influential creators to join the conversation at Davos and to share their perspectives with audiences around the world. Our aim is for the Forum to become a go-to destination on our platform and ultimately for young people to engage with the important work the World Economic Forum does throughout the year,” says Julia Paige, Director of YouTube Social Impact, which is collaborating with the Forum on the project.

The World Economic Forum is already the most age-diverse Summit in the world. In addition to the social media stars, ten teenage change-makers will also participate in this year’s meeting. Members of the Forum’s Global Shapers Community, a global network of civic-minded young people in their twenties, have been bringing youth perspectives to meetings for 10 years.
