Vaccination rolls out in Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, NCR in line with India’s drive

As India rolled out the World’s largest vaccination drive against the coronavirus today, The vaccination drive got off to a flying start in a super specialty Yashoda hospital of the NCR region in Uttar Pradesh too when front line workers lined up for the vaccination and Dr. RK Mani, who remained in the forefront during the ongoing pandemic, was the first to receive the shot.

Many doctors and the hospital staff also took the jab under the supervision of the district’s administration officials and the hospital authorities.

Apparently Pandemic stressed Dr. PN Arora, Managing Director of Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad said the Hospital has started the inoculation first for the front line workers and ” it was a major relief today as for months, the staff members, especially those manning the covid wing, were under round the clock stress with the looming threat of contracting the infection”.

The Hospital remained in sharp focus during the deadly Pandemic because of the flood of patients, including veteran politicians, including former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, senior bureaucrats, many other prominent personalities, and the common man. Dr. Arora said the recovery rate was 99.9 percent and ” we tried to ensure that the medication during the international crisis, should be affordable”.

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi today launched the COVID-19 vaccine drive in the country, the world’s largest vaccination drive so far and on an opening day. as many as 1,91,181 people were vaccinated.

The first day of the massive countrywide COVID-19 vaccination program was conducted successfully.  A total of 3,352 sessions were held wherein 1,91,181 beneficiaries were vaccinated as per the provisional reports. Additional 3,429 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Defence institutions. As many as 16,755 personnel were actively involved in organizing the immunization session sites.

No case of post-vaccination hospitalization has been reported, so far.

Two types of COVID-19 vaccines have been supplied for the vaccination drive:

    • Covishield vaccine (made by Serum Institute of India Ltd) has been supplied to all States/UTs.
    • Covaxin vaccine (made by Bharat Biotech International Ltd) has been supplied to 12 States.

Adequate quantities of vaccines and logistics were ensured at all COVID-19 vaccination session sites across the country. Minor issues such as some delay in uploading of the beneficiary list at some session sites were successfully resolved.

Informatively, Veteran Critical Care & Pulmonology specialist Dr. R.K. Man had joined as the Director Strategy & Covid-19 Management of Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital team at Kaushambi, Ghaziabad.

On his induction, Dr. Ariora had said Dr. RK Mani is a well-known name as a pioneer and opinion leader in the fields of critical care and pulmonology. He has made a mark as a clinician, academician, teacher and medical administrator in a career spanning 39 years. He was instrumental in developing critical care, pulmonology, and sleep medicine departments in several leading hospitals in Delhi NCR and in Mathura. Director, Upasana Arora said that now with the availability of services of DR R K Mani the management of Covid-19 patients would be e-streamlined in a much better manner and not only the doctors and the staff but Covid-19 patient would also be benefited.
