Unnao: Two Girls found dead & Another in serious condition; Incident evokes condemnation  
Two young Dalit girls were found dead and another unconscious in their field in Asoha area of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh, triggering an outrage among locals and political parties which deplored the incident and sought a thorough probe even as the district police which was initially apprehending it as a suicide case because of recovery froth on the deserted spot, has lodged a report and started investigations.
The initial opinion of doctors, police said, it to be a case of suspected poisoning. The autopsy report is awaited.
The Chief Minister Adiyantah Yogi has sought a complete report of the incident and ordered free medical treatment to the third girl whose condition was bad and has been rushed to Kanpur for better treatment.
A wave of anger swept the area when a video went viral in which the deceased father was being taken away by plainclothes policemen and members of the family accused police of forcibly taking away bother and father of the deceased, police debunked such charges.
SP, Unnao scotched social media reports that the access to the victim’s family had been blocked .
SP  Kulkarni said there were no such restrictions and political party leaders and media were freely mingling with family.

Three girls – 13, 16, and 17 years old, and from a Scheduled Caste – left home Wednesday afternoon to gather fodder. When they did not return their family began searching for them.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “Not only the Dalit society, but the UP government is also crushing women honor and human rights. But they remember that I and the entire Congress Party stand as the voice of the victims and will continue to provide justice to them”.
The samajwadi party tweeted: On the instructions of Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party’s delegation will meet the families of the victims on 20 February 2021 to investigate the tragic incident with three daughters in Unnao.
