Tokyo Olympic Games being conducted in an abnormal situation & It is a most testing time for athletes: N Ramachandran
His identity is that of one of the ablest sports administrators in India and the international sporting scene itself. Chennai-based N Ramachandran’s association with the development of sports in India for decades is well known. So is his association and distinguished services in the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as its erstwhile President and as the reigning President of Tamil  Nadu Olympic Association(TNOA).
It was entirely due to his relentless pursuit that squash evolved into a popular, competitive sport in India coming out of the army and club culture image. He has also been making great efforts to make IOC include squash as a competitive sport in the Olympic Games. He took up this task when he was elected head of the World Squash Federation (WSF).  He was also heading Squash Racquets Federation of India
Talking to,  Mr.Ramachandran Ramachandran draws up a scenario for the coming Olimpic Games beginning in Tokyo city from July 24, amidst the pandemic and anticipation of  a third wave of the devastating COVID19.”The Tokyo Olympic Games are being conducted in an abnormal situation. It will be a testing time for athletes from all over the world and more so for Indian athletes who are participating in these games under trying conditions.
The Tokyo Olympic Games Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee need to be complimented in ensuring that this event takes place amidst the pandemic and the state of emergency that has been proclaimed in Tokyo.
With every Olympics, one finds that more Indians are qualifying to participate in the Olympic Games. To each and every athlete who is participating in the Tokyo Olympic Games, on my personal behalf and as a former President of the Indian Olympic Association, I wish all of them the very best of luck in their events. “
Mr. Ramachandran wishes that India’s talented sportspersons in their respective disciplines would bring home more Olympic medals than ever before, and ” make the country feel proud” about them.
