Taj Mahal: Bomb hoax- Monument Shut & Reopened after searches
The Iconic Taj Mahal was closed down for a while as a precautionary measure today as an anonymous caller informed police that he had planted a bomb there to air his frustration over the cancellation of his recruitment in the army but bomb disposal squads frisked every part of the moment and found the call was a hoax.
Police have tracked down the location of the mobile phone and sent teams to Ferozabad to arrest the caller whose details have been retrieved from the records.
Agra police have tweeted:@agrapolice: Regarding the above information, the Taj Mahal campus and the surrounding area have been checked, the situation has been found to be normal, the Taj Mahal has been opened to tourists as before. Police had earlier tweeted: On 4.3.21, M.No. Information was received from 8318881301 that a bomb has been placed near the Taj Mahal, which will explode after some time. Taking quick action by Agra Police.@cosadar The search team is conducting a check-up operation in the Taj Mahal complex with the .#sp_protocol_bite@Uppolice
As per the order issued by the district administration, Agra Taj Mahal was reopened for visitors from 21st Sep 2020  after a protracted closure due to a coronavirus pandemic.
