@TaraTisch 17h Our #ThanksgivingDay looks very different from past holidays. The kids are frontline workers and I am immunocompromised. We would rather #StayHomeForThanksgiving than risk putting others at risk of dying from #coronavirus. This year I am thankful for the little things.)
President-elect in an emotional write up has written :
Today, in an op-ed for CNN, President-elect Biden and Dr. Biden wished the nation a Happy Thanksgiving. They emphasized that although the holiday traditions cannot proceed as usual due to the ongoing pandemic, this is still a time to share gratitude and have faith that we will get through this crisis together.
This Thanksgiving, tables throughout our country will have an empty chair.
It may be for the loved one who can’t travel or the parent stationed overseas. Perhaps it’s for your sister or brother just across town — staying away to protect everyone during this pandemic, making sure next year will be celebrated together.
For the families of the Americans lost this year, that chair is another reminder that someone they love will never come home again.”
