It’s not contact tracing of Coronavirus infected cases,But tracing of “Unsung Heros”

In the current global crisis, unleashed by the pandemic coronavirus, angels have made their appearances within the precinct of hospitals, locked down cities, morgues, virtual platforms, and at  places beyond human comprehension. Many of them disbursed foods free, other lent ventilators to gasping patients for life on beds next to them, some penned inspirational experiences, some tended stray animals, some brainstormed to evolve strategies to face harsh waves of pandemics’ Tsunamis, a teacher in Netherland sewed woolen dolls as her school children, the list is unending.

World-renowned media icon Oprah Winfrey invited fans into her home (virtually) Friday night for a spiritual discussion. She started a 24-hour global live stream event called ” The call to unite” organized in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Her discussion featured the event’s organizer, Timothy Shriver, Bishop TD Jakes, and Eckhart Tolle.

But, Abdul Basit Syed, Founder Chairman of an International NGO “World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) has a job with a difference. He is trying to figure out those latent angels who chose to stand up with humanity. He plans to honor these what he describes as ” Unsung Heros”.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”-Mahatma Gandhi. He quotes this quote from Mahatma during his current drive. It is like angels’ tracing.

According to him, Covid-19 is the live issue in this day and age and it is carving out a whole era of a lifestyle. The whole world is under quarantine and compulsive lockdown, there are still many people who devote and serve humankind to protect and restore normalcy in society just for the sake of supporting humanity.

Abdul Basit has decided to appreciate those unsung heroes of humanity and bring them to the limelight, as we often forget to say thank you or acknowledge people around, who have always been contributing to the betterment of humanity especially during this crisis of Covid-19.

“Honouring The Honourable” is a noble initiative of WHD to show gratitude to the warm-hearted.

He says, “You can self-nominate or nominate others, who you think deserves to be appreciated and recognized.WHD heartily welcomes nominees and nominations from all corners of the world irrespective of nationality, age, organization, and community groups”.
