HE Anthony Carmona, commends Dr. Abdul Basit Syed, for his campaign and evergreen advocacy to garner international support in having the United Nations (UN) declare 2nd September, as “World Moral Day.”

“World Humanitarian Drive (WHD)”  organised a beautiful event “Embracing World Moral Day” having WHD Patron HE Anthony Carmona, 5th President of Trinidad & Tobago as the program’s Chief Guest, Welcome address was delivered by India WHD Chapter Secretary General, PadmaBhusan Brig. Dr Anil Kohli.

WHD initiative #WorldMoralDay is to request the United Nations to declare 2nd of September (last day of World War II) as #WorldMoralDay. WHD believes Morality to be the foundation of Peace, hence have reached 1400 education institutions in India which has more then a million students to promote #WHD initiative of #WorldMoralDay, throughout 2021 September through various exciting programs and events organised by WHD together with steering board member Dr Fajila Azad. WHD campaigns to declare 2nd of September as #WorldMoralDay to elevate all the sufferings of human lives losses because of World Wars and other pandemic like Covid to be realised through a moral thinking and actions. #WorldMoralDay is endorsed and supported by many world leaders.

On September 2nd 2021, Cycle Marathon in Chennai, India was organised as the commencement of the inaugural for this year 2021 #WorldMoralDay celebrations. This event was flag started by Dr Abdul Basit Syed, Founder Chairman of WHD, followed by numerous other International programs like Arts, Video emphasis on morality, Tree plantation, marathon running, story telling, debates, poetry and story telling on morals across the world, millions of people participated in these programs as a support to this initiative.

On the 28th of October, 2 PM U.K time “Emphasising World Moral Day” program celebrations were organised via online Zoom, HE Anthony Carmona, 5th President of Trinidad and Tobago, said in the event  “I wish to commend Dr. Abdul Basit Syed, for his campaign and evergreen advocacy to garner international support in having the United Nations (UN) declare 2nd September, the day that World War Two ended, as World Moral Day. Such a declaration will bolster the efforts of the international community to engender morality, ethical values and conduct, integrity, accountability and transparency in us all, for a better and greater world. The World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) seeks to achieve the transformational objectives of spreading integrity, development and peace throughout the world, developing social responsibility for the 21st century, advocating the critical role of moral values to the development of the Nation State and the importance of moral values in our individual and collective lives, protecting at all times fundamental human rights and values. The acceptance and actualisation of morality in our daily lives are fundamental to building peaceful societies that ensure the recognition and proliferation of human rights for all, justice, inclusivity, equality and compassion with the core principle of No one Being Left Behind.” Finally the former President congratulated the winners of the #World Moral Day competitions and had a one to one discussion with several students and teachers giving them beautiful inspirations from his life.

Numerous educationist and experts in various fields spoke in the event to inspire thousands of student winners, the Speaker’s included Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of the AAFT University, Mr Robin Marsh, Secretary General of UPF. Etc. The event was well organised by WHD Operations Director Ms Sara Wilson, and moderated by Viva Andrada O’Flynn, WHD media head.
