Fire breaks out in Serum Institute, Pune; No impact on the production of Covisheld
Pune/ New Delhi, Jan 21: A fire broke out at the Serum Institute of India’s Manjari premises in Pune but there was no impact on the Covishield vaccine-making process.
The fire was in a facility away from the place where the anti-coronavirus vaccines are made.
Three persons were evacuated from the building as six fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze.
Initial reports said the fire broke out at Terminal 1 of the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, which is the world’s largest vaccine producer.
At least a dozen fire tenders were rushed to the spt.10 fire tenders on the spot.
