Coronavirus: 24 patients died in a Karnataka Hospital due to oxygen short supply & comorbidities

At least 24 patients died at the district Covid Hospital in Chamarajanagar, 175 kilometres from Bengaluru on Sunday due to an oxygen supply shortage and comorbidity, according to reports in various media outlets.

Investigations are underway in the tragedy that struck the government hospital on Sunday amid an increasing number of Covid patients.

According to the district administration, as many as 12 patients died due to lack of oxygen as the hospital ran short of supply of the critical gas, while others died due to various co-morbid conditions. However, locals alleged that the authorities Details are awaited.

Suresh Kumar, the District in-charge minister told media persons in Bengaluru that he had visited the district 2-3 days ago and reviewed the situation. “Every life is precious and any death brings us intense grief. We have sought a report on the deaths …. He has been quoted on the media websites.
